A very unpleasant experience.

In this review I am not going to assess the quality of the magazine but their unacceptable business model.

They offer a free sample I saw of their magazine. All they ask is your postal address. Nowhere does it really state that this may have a cost and a very high one indeed. No card number or payment whatsoever is required, only your postal address to receive the 'free sample'. In any logical world in case you like the magazine you would ask for a subscription. Well, not here.

When I saw this free sample I introduced my address. To my surprise I began to receive more magazines after the 'sample' but in this case with a very high bill for a subscription I had never made. Then I began to receive letters at home asking (threatening) for money. I couldn't believe it since I had not signed for any subscription in the first place. Finally I also received constant court threatens until the situation was so unbearable that I decided to send them the money they were asking for. To make a long story short, they sent 4 samples of their magazine to my home and collected a debt of 124 euros. Unbelievable, right?

I never write reviews but I am so upset that I wanted to warn other people so that the same thing doesn't happen to them. The people from this company are absolute bullies. They take advante of their potential customers, people who don't understand German well. They deceive, trap you and then bully you until they can get as much money from you as possible. Can't understand why this company is still functioning. Their behavour is unprofessional, immoral and indecent. All I can say is... stay away from these people!

in mine it states clearly that I have 2 weeks to decide (after receiving the first one) if I want to cancel the subscription or not. You have to read the terms before you get 'free samples', it might include 2 years of subscription magazines (which sounds like the price you mentioned). If you agreed to a long-term cotnract, you should receive all the magazines you paid for.

I have had the same bad experience - and now they are threatening me with legal actions. They never state that you are becoming a subscriber in their mail, and when you register on their website, you cannot log in at once to check out the free sample and decide at once. You have to wait a while for your log-in information. When I received mine it did not work, and I forgot the whole business. So in fact I was not able to see a single copy of the magazine. Stay away from the company if you want to spare yourself irritation. And by the way, being a German teacher, I lose my warm feelings for the country being treated like that.
